The San Antonio Tennis Association, Inc.

Due to the current circumstances related to COVID-19, the San Antonio Tennis Association, Inc. has made the difficult decision to cancel the SATA Adult Major Zone. For those that had registered for the tournament, your refund will be issued to your credit card. We look forward to seeing everyone in September at Texas Adult Sectionals.
All players must sign the SATA 2020 Leagues Waiver before playing their first match. The waiver can be found here: 2020 League Waiver.
USTA has provided player tips and recommendations for playing tennis safely:

2020 Summer Leagues: 40+ and 18-39
The 2020 Summer Saturday schedules have been posted to tennislink. Make sure to frequently check the SATA facilities webpage for facility specific rules for this summer: https://www.satennis.com/facilities. We need to respect the rules of each facility as they want to keep everyone safe. All facilities need players to bring their own ice, water, and towels. The country clubs (Sonterra, Dominion, and Fair Oaks) would also like to remind players that it is illegal to bring alcohol to their facilities. Be prepared to bring and wear a mask at any facility requiring players to walk through a building before play (such as the JCC). Play your match and then leave as facilities do not want gatherings of spectators.
In this league, the visiting team is responsible for providing one can of balls per line. If any of your players would like to have an extra can of balls for the match, that player will be responsible for providing the extra can of balls.
For 40+, the format for this season is one line of singles and three lines of doubles. If a match ends up tied 2-2, the tie shall be broken by the first of the following methods to do so:
a) Sets: Loser of the fewest number of sets.
b) Games: Loser of the fewest number of games.
c) Game Winning Percentage: Total games won divided by total games played
d) The team that wins line one doubles.
Due to the rapidly changing circumstances with teams and facilities, it's possible that the posted schedules could change. Check your schedules often and communicate with your opponents. As always, you can play lines early at different days, times or locations. Communicate with your facility if you will not be needing any of the courts that have been reserved for you.
Thank you for your patience and have a great season!
