I would like to introduce myself as the Leagues Coordinator for San Antonio Tennis Association. I am excited to be a part of this team and it’s efforts to grow tennis in our wonderful city. San Antonio leagues started the year with a Fire and Ice tournament. It was a fun weekend of competitive tennis that resulted in a tie in both the Women’s 3.0 and 3.5 divisions. Congratulations to our winners, the Fair Oaks Flame (3.0) and Blossom Serve Me a Double (3.5). These ties led us to examine our league’s tiebreaker rules which I will share here to remind all of our players how ties are broken:

2.03H Procedures in the Event of a Tie. In the event of a tie, whether in round robin or single elimination competition, the tie shall be broken by the first of the following procedures that does so:

2.03H(1) Individual Matches. Winner of the most individual matches in the entire competition.

2.03H(2) Head-to-Head. Winner of head-to-head match.

2.03H(3) Sets. Loser of the fewest number of sets.

2.03H(4) Games. Loser of the fewest number of games.

2.03H(5) A Method to be Determined by the Championships Committee. Procedure to be announced prior to commencement of championship competition.

In other news, our Women’s 40+ Leagues registration opened on January 15th, with minimum rosters due 2/9/18 and play beginning 3/1/18. The captains meeting will be 2/15/18 at 10am at Overture Stone Oak, 18610 Tuscany Stone, San Antonio, TX 78258. I look forward to seeing the 40+ captains there!
