New Leagues Rules for 2020

New Rules (USTA National):

1.04E(3) Players must be 18 years of age prior to participating in the USTA League program.

2.03A(4) Eligibility to advance to National Championships for self-rated and computer-rated appealed players requires playing at least four (4) matches on the same team at the same level in the same Age Group. No defaults received count.

2.01A Below level players are not allowed to play #1 positions when participating in plus (+) level matches

1.04A Changing Adult 40 & Over format for National Championships to 1 singles, 3 doubles. Conforming changes to the following regulations: 1.04D(4); 2.01A(1)b, c, e, f; 2.03A(5); 2.03D; 2.03E; 2.03H(2)e; 2.03K; 3.03B(3)a. (Texas Sectionals will also follow this format). The final tiebreak after all of the standard tiebreaks is that the winner of line one doubles will determine the winner.

New Rules (Texas Section):

10. In Texas, in the Adult 18 & Over, Adult 40 & Over, Adult 55 & Over, Mixed 18 & Over and Mixed 40 & Over, players must play 2 matches (one default received shall count) to be eligible for local league playoffs, city championships and Sectionals. Self-rated (S) players and Appeal (A) rated players must play 2 matches with no defaults counting to be eligible for local league playoffs, city championships and Sectionals. All Self-rated and Appeal players must play 4 times (with no defaults counting) to be eligible to play at Nationals.

New Rules (SATA):

Weather and Makeups Procedure

Both captains are responsible for coordinating the make-up match. Make-up matches must be scheduled according to their designated league format (i.e. Monday through Friday morning matches are weekday make-ups, unless both captains agree to change; Saturday and Sunday matches will be made up during daylight on the respective days the match was scheduled unless both captains agree on another date and time). Everything in italics was removed.

Playoff Parameters

1. For leagues with a single round robin, there will be a top two playoff. For leagues with multiple round robins, there will be no playoff.

2. For leagues with two flights, the first team from flight A will play the second team from flight B, and the second team from flight A will play the first team from flight B. Then the two winners play each other.

3. For leagues that have a weekday vs weekend city playoff, the top two teams from the weekday league will playoff against the top two teams from the weekend league in the following format: the first team from the weekday league will play the second team from the weekend league and the second team from the weekday league will play the first team from the weekend league. Then the two winners play each other.

San Antonio 40+ Format

4.5+ will play a 2 singles/3 doubles format

All other levels will play a 1 singles/4 doubles format

Max roster will increase to 22 for 40+ only
